Vaginoplasty, which is also known as rejuvenation or tightening of the vagina, is a surgical procedure that tightens the vaginal muscles. For women who experience multiple vaginal childbirths, the muscles within the vagina can enlarge due to exertion during delivery. This can lead to weakened vaginal muscles. Kegel exercises might not improve the condition of the muscles. Although some women cherish the experience of childbirth, often sexual intercourse is not as satisfying as before, for both them and their sexual partner.
Stretched vaginal muscles can usually be corrected through vaginoplasty, which can improve the sexual experience. By reducing the vaginal lining (mucosa), the vaginal muscles and surrounding soft tissues tighten. This procedure results in smaller vaginal muscles, and therefore more friction during sex. The increased contraction strength and control of the muscles within the vagina cause greater sensation during sex. Most women who are in normal physical shape and good health can have vaginoplasty surgery.
Procedure and Recovery
Vaginoplasty is a standard surgical procedure. Post–surgery, it can take a few days for the patient to walk comfortable, and sexual intercourse is possible after 6 weeks of recovery time. There are not many surgical risks, but the risks can include infection, bleeding, and scarring.
